The Rev. Dr. Olivia Hilton

Associate Rector

The Reverend Dr. Olivia Hilton is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary and Virginia Theological Seminary, Mother Olivia grew up in the Episcopal/Anglican Church, both in the United States and overseas.

As a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department for almost 30 years, she represented the U.S. in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, as well as focusing on international religious freedom; democracy and human rights; and refugee issues during Washington assignments.

Ordained to the diaconate in 2005 and the priesthood in 2006 in the Diocese of Washington, she was bi-vocational for a decade before retiring from diplomacy in 2015 to focus on her priestly ministry.  She is a long-time volunteer at the Diocese of Washington’s Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys and at Washington National Cathedral.  Mother Olivia is blessed to be the mother of two adult children, and is delighted to be the devoted human of her fifth Dalmatian.
